Tuesday, July 24: Annie Lowrey -- Give People Money

LGW, in partnership with Hooks Book Events and A Wider Circle, hosted an eye-opening conversation with Annie Lowrey, author of Give People Money: How a Universal Basic Income Would End Poverty, Revolutionize Work and Remake the World. Mark Bergel ('16) led a candid and thoughtful discussion with Annie, where they expanded on her global investigation of universal basic income (UBI). UBI involves the practice of giving every citizen an annual stipend, no questions asked. Guests also interacted with Lowrey, fielding questions and gaining insights on Lowrey's philosophies.

Friday, September 14: Peter Georgescu -- Capitalists, Arise!

Our second installment of Programs With A Purpose featured Peter Georgescu, author of Capitalists, Arise! End Economic Inequality, Grow the Middle Class, Heal the Nation. Mark Bergel ('16), founder of A Wider Circle, facilitated a lively conversation focused on the struggling middle class in America and how businesses can solve these existential problems by tackling income inequality gaps.
