LGW Member Emily Rothberg (`02) is teaming with us to lead a dynamic full-day workshop on May 3 for late-career leaders. To help you plan for and realize your unique Post-Career Life, Emily will share her next chapter framework and guide you through a highly interactive, self-reflective process to help you prepare for what’s next after a rewarding career or business. The program will include a rich mix of content-sharing, full-group discussion, breakouts, and individual reflection. You will leave with your own customized career transition plan.
At the workshop you and other participants will join together to explore fears, regrets, and possibilities; define and celebrate your unique legacy; and take a hard look at how this transition will impact your identity, the people with whom you now spend your time, and the structure of your day – all informing what truly matters for you going forward.
You will gain support and fresh perspectives from others’ challenges and insights, and leave with greater clarity and renewed possibilities – plus, your customized Post-Career Life Plan© with concrete steps to further your transition journey.

This full-day workshop is offered to Active Members for a discounted cost of $125. The registration fee for inactive and non-members is $275.

About the Facilitator
After an unplanned “retirement” from corporate America – including leadership roles at Deloitte, AT&T, and Fannie Mae – Emily Rothberg ('02) parlayed lessons learned from her own journey to formalize her coaching practice in 2014. Drawing from her clients’ aspirations and struggles, Emily designed her Identity + Community + Time© methodology as the foundation of What’s Next, an unabashed, engaging workshop program that inspires dynamic exploration and concrete action-planning for a life well lived.
Emily received her Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credential from the College for Executive Coaching. She also completed Deloitte’s Coach Approach program and was selected for an Ellen Gabriel Fellowship, which included intensive leadership training at Columbia Business School. Emily served as an Adjunct Faculty member at George Mason University, where she received her Master’s degree in Sociology with a dual concentration in Conflict Analysis & Resolution and Race & Ethnicity. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Swarthmore College.
Emily stays deeply involved with several coaching and community organizations, including the International Coaching Federation, Leadership Greater Washington, and Washington Networking Group. She is a member of Career Thought Leaders and the Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association, a Leadership Coach for Women in Government Relations, and a Volunteer Mentor for Upwardly Global. Emily previously held board and leadership roles with organizations such as ACT for Alexandria, Northen Virgina Chamber of Commerce, and Points of Light Corporate Institute.
A long-time resident of the Greater Washington area, Emily resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, Peter. She proudly raised two boys and recently celebrated the “bark mitzvah” of her 80-lb. rescue pup, Ellie.
